Go Green for Spring: 5 reasons why we should all switch to Tala
I admit that when I think of ‘spring cleaning’, switching my bulbs from incandescent to LED isn’t the first thing that springs to mind (pun intended).
‘Spring cleaning’ personally gives me flashbacks to being 14 years old and forced to do house chores. Don’t ask me why.
However, now that I’m not 14, the start of spring does signify a renewed sense of purpose for me.
Am I getting the work/life balance right? How can I be efficient in not just my work, but in my home as well? How can I make the switchover to LED as simple as possible? What are the practical benefits of my sustainable lifestyle choices?
As I’ve recently gone through the process myself, I thought I’d share 5 reasons that I’ve found to switch to Tala’s LED lighting.
Keep reading to be inspired!
1. You’ll save money before the year is up.
So you’ve gone through all of the fixtures in your house and you’ve worked out how many bulbs you need. Great!
Tala’s new classic sets of 3, 6, and 9 provide the quantity you need, for the best price. The more you buy, the more you save, which makes the changeover to LED cheaper, simpler, and more cost effective. Save up to 15% off, for a limited time only.
It’s true that there’s a greater up-front cost when purchasing LED bulbs. So it may not feel like you’re saving money initially. However, when you factor in the money saved on your energy bills and avoided frequent replacement costs, your initial investment is returned within one year of purchase.
2. Stocking up on spare light bulbs is a thing of the past.
Have you ever done that thing where you would buy more light bulbs than you needed to? Because you know, they were cheap so why not? And you were never sure how long they were going to last?
When buying a Tala bulb, you’re buying a product that’s built to last. That means higher quality components that are tried and tested to last between 15,000 – 30,000 hours (depending on the product). That equates to 10-15 years within a residential environment. Knowing this, you can buy exactly what you need. With the added bonus of Tala’s 3 year warranty, you can trust your bulbs will last a good amount of time.
3. LED lighting is an easy way to reduce your carbon footprint.
It’s 2018, and many of us are becoming more aware of the ways that our consumption and lifestyle choices impact the environment. We all know that record numbers of CO2 are being detected in our atmosphere due to the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation, amongst other things.
As individuals, there are small steps we can take to make a difference in the long term. A Tala bulb uses 90% less energy than its incandescent counterparts to produce the same amount of light. When you combine that with the number of additional years a Tala bulb lasts, it will prevent at least 1 tonne of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere over the course of its lifetime.
Not bad for a single light bulb!
4. Tala enhances your home’s natural beauty.
Tala bulbs produce a warm, instant, dimmable light unlike most LED lighting, typically associated with a harsh, clinical ‘cool white’ which is far from homely. Tala’s products are all a ‘warm white’ with a colour temperature of between 2200K-2700K. All of our products are also fully dimmable, so it’s never been easier to achieve the perfect ambience in your home.
5. Buying Tala means you’re planting trees.
Remember the deforestation and extra CO2 in the atmosphere we discussed earlier? We’re not a fan of this at Tala, so we want to do all we can to help. A percentage of our revenue supports reforestation programmes in areas of greatest need globally. To date, we have contributed to the planting of 24,800 trees in the UK and the USA. By choosing Tala, you’re choosing to mitigate climate change.

With the EU Ban on many incandescent and halogen bulbs coming into effect from September 2018, it’s more a question of how you are going to switch to LED, rather than when.
At Tala we believe that positivity is the only real way to convince others to make more sustainable lifestyle choices. But if you can be more eco-conscious AND get beautiful lighting that will enhance your interior at a good price, why wouldn’t you?
