On the road again!

On the road again!

Hands up, who’s doing dry January? or Veganuary? or going to any trade shows this month? We are!

We also have the best excuse to crack open a few bottles of champagne this week (goodbye dry january!) But before we do, we’re making sure every last detail of our stands are ready to be built and lit up for a busy exhibition week ahead.

We will be lighting up three trade shows this month, yes, three, followed by a fourth in February. IMM in Cologne first, Lightovation in Dallas, followed by Maison & Objet in Paris and then the Furniture Fair in Stockholm.

Trade shows are a vital way to create awareness of what makes Tala different, show off our game-changing products and most importantly meet other designers, architects and all of you across the world.

At Maison & Objet as well as having our own stand we are so excited to be collaborating with two other spaces as well! The first is Le Club which is an exclusive lifestyle showcase for VIPs – the second is a big one, prepare yourself.. We’ll be illuminating the Cafe-Scenes restaurant designed by French designer, Noe Duchaufour-Lawrance located in Hall 8. You won’t miss our twelve Voronoi I bulbs hanging beautifully from the ceiling. These spaces will be hosting meetings, lunches and coffees throughout the fair so don’t forget to look up.

Our Voronoi and Porcelain ranges will be the main focus this year. The Porcelain range offers an alternative design aesthetic to the exposed LED filament style we are recognised for, exploring primary geometries and new processes to create a series of contemporary, pared-back designs.

The Voronoi III – the world’s largest sculptural bulb – makes its regional debut. This collection stemmed from the Voronoi pattern found in the forest canopy and throughout nature.

The trade show industry is the second largest producer of waste after the construction industry. In an attempt to limit our contribution, we are driving the bulk of our materials to the fairs by van, with our Design team squeezed in at the back, to reduce our dependence on pallet transportation. The rest of us will be getting the Eurostar back to London; that’s 90% less in carbon emissions. It also goes without saying that all of our marketing materials have been printed on recycled paper in limited quantities.

We’re really excited to be showing both these collections around the world. Be sure to come and say hey if you’re visiting – don’t forget to show us your content too: we’ll be uploading to Instagram – @tala, Twitter – @wordsoftala, and Facebook – @talahq so tag us, or use our curated hashtags such as #talaxmaison.
